Joel Nicholson BSc., P. Biol.
Joel Nicholson was born and raised in the prairie region of Alberta. Life in rural Alberta cultivated his interest in wildlife which led him to pursue a BSc (Special) degree in biology and chemistry from Augustana University College in Camrose, Alberta, graduating in 1995. Since that time his work as a wildlife biologist has encompassed a wide variety of wildlife species. He has worked on a number of wildlife research projects, as an industrial consultant, and is currently employed by the Alberta Fish and Wildlife Division in Medicine Hat as a Senior Species at Risk Biologist.
Recent work activities have focused on the grasslands of south-eastern Alberta and include conservation related work on species such as sage-grouse, burrowing owl, swift fox, short-horned lizard, soapweed , yucca moth, western spiderwort, tiny cryptanthe, northern leopard frog, and prairie rattlesnake.
Colin Kure
Was born in Innisfail in 1945, have been farming on two sections of Parkland near the Red Deer River since graduating from Olds College in 1964.
Colin has served on a number committees and executive positions with AFGA, Alberta Agriculture and SRD, habitat and conservation issues are an obvious concern. Over 30 years of ring neck and sharp tail hunting has kept him familiar with the Antelope Creek area. There are five generations in his family that have had a vested interest in looking after the Alberta country side.
Jennifer Richman
Jenn grew up on a ranching operation near Hays, in southern Alberta. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Rangeland Management from the University of Alberta in 2001. Her love for the prairie steered her to pursue an education focused on the landscape she knew so well. Since completing her degree, Jenn has worked for the Rangeland Management Branch of the Public Lands and Forests Division in Lethbridge, where she is currently an Area Rangeland Specialist.
Her focus is to maintain the Rangeland Reference Area Network in the south-east portion of the province and Rangeland health message delivery.
