Neal Wilson and Shannon Burnard are the current ranch managers they have two sons, two dogs and two cats. It takes at least two of everything to make a ranch like this work. Shannon and Neal began the job of managing the ranch on November 1 2005. They had just returned to Canada after working for three years in Taiwan as english teachers though their educational background is in agriculture and the environment.
Neal grew up in Southern Saskatchewan and has a degree in agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan. He has always enjoyed working outside with cattle and horses and has a long history of being a ranch cowboy. Neal worked professionally with the Saskatchewan Wetland Conservation Corporation, Prairie Conservation Acton Plan and the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Shannon has a Diploma from Olds College in Land Management majoring in Soil and Water Conservation. She has a strong interest in native plants and reclamation. She grew up in Northern Saskatchewan riding horses and enjoying nature. Professionally she has worked with the Saskatchewan Wetland Conservation Corporation.
Neal and Shannon enjoy the peace and challenges of the ranch. Out in the middle of the prairie with all its natural beauty can never be boring as there is always something happening either with oil and gas, cattle, visitors, hunters or wildlife.
